THE REFORMED CHURCH proclaims the entire Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God and holds the historic creeds of Christendom (the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession of Faith, the Canons of Dordt, and the Westminster Confession of Faith) as accurate summaries of the teachings of God's Word. The Church is Presbyterian in its government.
OUR NAME ...REFORMED - means that this church is in the tradition of the historic Protestant Reformation, accepting the entire Bible as the authoritative and inspired Word of God as our only rule for faith and life.
CHURCH - tells us that we belong to Christ, recognise Him as the King and Saviour of His church. As Christians we recognise the need for a living faith in Jesus.
OUR AIM ..."... to preach Christ crucified ..." for "...there is salvation in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved".
BOX HILL is a suburb of the city of Melbourne, 16 kilometres east of the central Post Office. The Reformed Church of Box Hill was instituted on the 19th of May 1957. In its early years, the church was formed by a small but growing group of Dutch migrants. As the years passed however, the church has increasingly become a truly multicultural body, where the Australian, English, Indonesian, Singapore, South African, and Sri Lankan, cultures blend in a harmony seldom found outside of the fellowship of the Lord Jesus Christ.
